Gilat jumps 17% in second-quarter revenue, Comtech deal set to create $2.6 billion company

Gilat Satellite Networks reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $122.7 million, a 17% increase from $105 million in the comparable quarter a year earlier. The company gave an annual outlook of $500-520 million (approximately 1.85-1.92 billion shekel), reflecting about 13% growth at the midpoint. Chief executive Adi Tzafdiya said the company saw “significant improvement both in sales and profitability,” and added that its security operations are expanding in the United States and Europe amid demand for mobility-supporting, rapid-deployment, continuous-operation solutions.

Alongside the earnings release, Gilat launched the Viper Ka ESA terminal for unmanned and autonomous missions and unveiled a patented AI-based jamming-mitigation technology. The algorithm runs on standard neural processing units (NPU) designed for edge AI, and early demonstrations showed up to 10-fold improvement in detection and neutralization of interference compared with conventional techniques. Vice-president of R&D Aaron Molokandov said the technology “opens opportunities that were not possible before, and we intend to showcase it on a dedicated AI accelerator to pave the way for a low-power edge solution suitable for operational terminals.”

In June, Gilat signed a definitive agreement to acquire the satellite-and-space communications division of the U.S. firm Comtech for $157.5 million in cash. The unit supplies ground infrastructure for GEO, MEO and LEO constellations, Troposcatter BLOS systems for beyond-line-of-sight links, and engineering services for satellites, launch vehicles and crewed space applications. Its customer base includes the U.S. Department of Defense, allied security agencies, satellite operators and energy companies, giving Gilat a gateway to Pentagon budgets. Tzafdiya said the merger is expected to be completed this year, although a final closing date was not disclosed.
